About

Having gained first hand experience working within contracting businesses I was able to observe which areas they typically needed help with. Sales and marketing is the lifeblood of any business, yet we're not taught that component at school or college.

Through my ongoing learning, I was able to craft my methodology, which can be used to help independent contractors, one-man brands, and small trades-based businesses within the domestic market.

I do this to help you win and focus on what you do best, get out on site, manage your business, and live your best life.

Why Does Your Web Copy Count?

The words that are written across your web presence provide the opportunity to connect with your audience, tell your story and give people the information they need to make an informed decision on whether you may be the right choice for them.

Your profiles, write-ups and website are essential to a series of platforms to consistently share the same information, building buyer confidence and positioning you in the light in which you desire to be portrayed.

At Each point of the journey, your prospective clients make their observations and decisions.

Tryign to run a professional company, yet your marketing materials and website is littered with spelling mistakes? You will be judged, and generally not for the better.

Want to charge more for your services yet are regularly putting out sub-standard content with more mixed messages than the fully inclusive sports team that has taken on all types of genders.

Looking to forge meaningful connections in your messaging? However, all you seem to do is talk about yourself, and people will notice this and instantly be repelled.

Ecah and every letter, word and sentence was published and put out into the public domain with a chance to work in your favour or agents you, whether you're aware of this or not, it is the case.

Which Types Of Copywriting Are Relevant For My Contracting Business?

Copywriting takes on many guises in the world, to an outsider looking in the notion of this may at first seem a little odd, however, it is helpful to know which types of copywriting are relevant for your contracting business if you wish to improve, change or introduce these.

How Important Is The Content Your Contracting Business Puts Out?

On par with the copy, the content your contracting business puts out is very important and an area that I often see vast room for improvement.

Whether this is photos of your work, videos destined for your social media accounts, your website or brochures, each of these is a chance to showcase your expertise and level of craftsmanship.

If you're keen to grow a business and market effectively then great content is one of the foundational pillars in this digital age.

Messy shots, weird angles, rubbish everywhere, workers dressed in scruffy clothing, these are all points to take note of as you will be judged by potential clients.

Alan, What Makes You Qualified To Be Preaching The Importance Of Online Marketing & Presence For Our Trades Based Businesses?

Great question, and I'm glad that you asked.

See, I'm not your average marketer, boring suit stuck in an office or spotty teenager with no life experience, not that there's anything wrong with these types of people, but from my own experiences, you get better industry insight, the challenges they face and what the day to day events can look like by immersing yourself.

So I done just that.

Diving into various forms of work on-site to understand the trades, workflows and project management more thoroughly, was massively helpful and insightful to say the least.

Also, by speaking with clients and prospects I was able to listen to their language, what they wanted from contractors and common problems they came up against.

Doing an apprenticeship of sorts, working for little money, tackling jobs that others may have deemed below themselves, rolling up the sleeves and getting stuck in have all provided a wealth of first hand experience.

Not that I expect you to be impressed by this.

However, I have also been able to generate sizeable amounts of work for the people I have helped within the domestic trades market or to position their business so they can charge higher fees and people view them as the more premium choice.

So you could say I know a thing or two about how the contracting businesses work, the mindest of marketing and conundrums your potential clients may face when looking for someone to undertake work at their home or business.

Learning From Others, Mentors & People I Respect

Fortunately, I have had the opportunity to connect, study with and be coached by some of the best minds in the UK. Each has provided ideas, valuable insights, skills, solutions or coaching to enable me to make progress. I will be forever grateful for the chance to work with the following:
